Merz Apothecary
INSPIRED BY THE PAST, REFRESHED TO LASTMerz Apothecary has been a landmark apothecary in Lincoln Square on Chicago’s Northside since 1875. The Qaiyum family hired BHC to renovate their Q Brothers space next to the original Apothecary to build their natural beauty and fragrance businesses. The Shops at Merz was created to house shops for Fragrance, Beauty and Q Brothers (men’s grooming). Fixtures, lighting, special finishes and signage all work together to create a juxtaposition of vintage apothecary and modern. BHC art directed new branding, interior signage, and all interior planning, material selections and fixture design.
Merz was listed in the NY Times Style Section as one of the World’s Destination Beauty Stores.
